My room was large with a very big shower and tub area and full size soaking tub. Everything was updated and the mattress was very comfortable. The room had everything I needed, including a small fridge and a handy in-room safety box. Breakfast was included with my room and I could choose between the excellent Japanese breakfast in the Japanese restaurant overlooking a garden, or opt for the Western-style buffet which featured made to order eggs and omelets and a wide array of delicious options. I liked the location near the Gosho Imperial Palace and the Marutamachi subway station. When I was feeling lazy I took the free shuttle to Oike/Karasuma, where I could catch two different subways (east-west and north-south). The open atrium in the center featured a coffee shop/bar and was a pleasant place to chat with friends. I used to live in Kyoto and this is one of my favorite parts of town, very convenient yet quiet. I can speak Japanese, but was glad that the front desk staff included some very good English speakers. I found the staff at this hotel very friendly and professional throughout the property. After staying for one week, I found it very hard to leave. I will definitely be back.

We got the Luxury room, it was very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was big with a lot of nice amenities like bath salt and bath essence provided. The lobby and the restaurants were super nice. It was good that you could choose to have either Japanese style breakfast or western buffet style. The staff was very helpful with good english. Even though the location was not close to the city center with not many public transport available, the hotel offers a free shuttle bus service to the nearest station where you can get on 2 metro lines and some local buses so it wasn’t bad. Also the hotel being next to the Kyoto Imperial gardens is very nice.

Norbert

Everything! The staff were super helpful, the extra grooming goods provided in the bathroom eg. Brightening sheet masks, bath salts and essence, relaxing body sheets. I've never stayed at a hotel that offers this. The room was quite big and clean, bathroom included bathtub which was nice but the price was also very reasonable. One of our most satisfying and enjoyable stays on our Japan trip. They also offer a shuttle service every 20 minutes to the train station. They offer in room massages which we sadly didn't have time to book. Truly 5 stars!

Debra

Everything was great. I was extremely impressed by the services and friendliness of the staff team. They went above and beyond to help you. They also can communicate in English. The room we booked was huge in Japanese standard about 50m. Everything was well organized and thought out. I only stayed at this hotel for one night and we had a driver/car with us all the time, so I cannot comment on the location and neighborhood but our driver, who has been living in Japan for over 15 years told us it was a great location full of high-end hotels.

The room had a separate room with tv, table, refrigerator, ac control, and ethernet cable connection. Separate toilet room. Wonderful shower and bath room. Beautiful woodwork, plenty of plug-ins, usb hubs at each side of bed. Bedding was very comfortable. Restaurants were wonderful. The Midi Bar had super desserts. Hotel well located. The staff was beyond helpful and friendly. My wife and I are going to come back to the Koyto Brighton Hotel again.
